Merry Christmas

It’s that time of year again, jingle bells, snow days, shoppers getting pepper sprayed for black Friday sales prices. Yes! It’s Christmas! My little gift to you is this collection of holiday songs I’ve been feeling lately. The mix hovers around the soul, funk, rock region, however, it does delve into some beatnik styles as well as some Ska. So listen up and enjoy. It is also available for a free download.

If She Wants It, She Gone’ Get It

Super Relaxed in a Brooklyn Garden

It’s been a while since I’ve graced a hip hop stage in NYC…and you’ll have to continue waiting, because my next performance will not include 2 turntables and a microphone. That’s right, Sunday the 10th of July I’m doing an acoustic set (no rapping just guitar and vocals) with my homegirl Hana Mess of The Mess. We’ll be performing under a grape arbor. There will be refreshments as well as a beautiful garden in Park Slope to check out. It’s a super relaxed environment; come out and chill, enjoy the flowers, the sunshine and oh yea the music.

The Garden of Union is located on Union St. between 4th and 5th Aves. (closer to 4th). The R train to Union will suffice. Music will start around 1pm. See you on Sunday.

Power For The People

In honor of the Independence Day weekend, 100dBs and I decided to leak a track fitting the occasion. “Power…” is a gift to our “fans” who have waited 4+ years for a new release from us. We’ll try not to keep you waiting any longer. Until then…

Eric Whitacre “Sleep”

I performed this is in college and still think it’s one of the most beautiful pieces I’ve ever heard. Now listen to a bunch of people singing it by themselves, then put together by the power of technology.

Enjoy

A little Change

The Summer Song of the Week has kept me quite busy over the last few months. I’ve had a blast working with Beege, Virginia Slimmzz, and everybody that’s passed through the doors of the green room studio. I hope you all enjoyed listening to the songs as much as I have enjoyed making them.

I realized a few weeks ago that I originally stated that I would release 8 songs over 8 weeks from July 6th to Aug. 31st. Well one problem, that’s 9 weeks! So instead of doing 9 songs (I have to go back to my actual job of teaching Kindergarten, so no, I wont be doing that!) I’m taking a week off to work EXTRA hard on song #8. It’s a remake of an oldie, but I wont give it away yet. My good friend P. Murray will be helping out on the final song, so I’m pretty confident that It’ll be a good one.

Enjoy the last days of summer, BBQs, rooftop parties, the beach, whatever you do, take care of yourselves and continue to enjoy the songs below.

Thanks

The Summer Song of the Week is finally here! As of this past Tuesday, I’ll be releasing a new song every Tuesday for free download for the rest of the summer, 8 weeks, 8 songs. The 1st song is a throwback to summers of yesteryear; “Space Ride” features my 2 best friends Da Beege, DJ Sir-Real and of course yours truly doing a kind of remix to MFSB’s “Love Is The Message.” Make sure to check every Tuesday for a new song…and tell your friends.
